Here are situations you might encounter while troubleshooting Grammarly either not being active, or not working properly, on student Chromebooks.
1. Students may not be included in the Grammarly security group, this error message will be obvious, please contact Chris Dusza or Ryan for this, they can add students to the Grammarly group.
2. Check the extension manager in Chrome, the Grammarly extension may not be installed, you can install it from the Chrome Webstore.
3. After installing, and having the students log into Grammarly, we found that some students were still being asked to log into Grammarly at each document, restarting their chromebooks resolved this issue.
4. We also found that when a student did not have Edit rights on the document, the Grammarly extension was not active and could not analyze the document. After the teacher gave edit writes to students, Grammarly loaded normally and the "G" was visible on that document, indicating that it was working.
