To project to the classroom projectors, or share your screen in things like Zoom and Google Meet, you'll need to allow these apps "Screen Recording" rights in your system settings. Here's how to do this.
1. Open System Settings
2. Once in System Settings, scroll down the left side of the window and click on Privacy & Security.
3. In Privacy & Security, scroll down on the right-hand side of the window and click Screen & System Audio Recording.
4. In Screen & System Audio Recording, click on the toggle switch next to the applications that need access to your screen. The switch will turn from grey to blue, indicating that that app can now " see " your screen's contents.
We recommend you do this for all the software shown below.
Enabling all these apps will allow you to:
- share your screen in a Google Meet session in Chrome or Firefox
- capture screen recordings using websites such as WeVideo or Screencastify
- share your screen in a Zoom meeting or webinar
- wirelessly project in a classroom using iProjection
- receive remote support from the Help Desk using TeamViewer QuickSupport
* If you have something on this list that is grayed out but you need to toggle it on (a new videoconferencing software or similar), please create a Help Desk Ticket so that we can enable the switch for you and everyone else
