If you have a new device or an existing device was reimaged, you will need to tell your computer to open PS export files (.text files) to open in Excel. Instructions below.


Open Text Files in Excel


Set your computer to open.text files in Excel:


Mac:

  1. Find the folder that has the .text file (usually Downloads). 

  2. Click on the file once (don’t open the file).

  3. Press Cmmd + “I” on your keyboard (“I” as in “information”)

  4. Click on the section called “Open With”

  5. Select Excel

  6. Click “Change All”



Windows:

  1. Find the folder that has the .text file (usually Downloads or Desktop). 

  2. Right-click on the file.

  3. Select Open With

  4. Select Choose another app

  5. Check the box for Always use this app to open .text files.

  6. Click More Apps

  7. Click Look for another app on this PC

Double click Microsoft Office > root > Office 16 > Excel
